We are located at Bishop Jerdan Conference Center in McClellanville, South Carolina. This is a beautiful property 77 acre property that is well suited for all the outdoor fun you can imagine. It is owned by the Reformed Episcopal Church Dioceses of the Southeast. Situated just off of Highway 17 less than an hours drive from downtown Charleston it is surrounded by the Francis Marion National forest on three sides and the Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge on the Fourth. Lake Francis is a 6.5 acre freshwater lake on property which has awesome fishing and paddling opportunities.
The Iconic Awendaw Passage of the Palmetto Trail can be accessed directly from the property that offers great hiking and off-road biking opportunities. There is a great diversity of habitats on the island that make it a nature lovers dream. There are plenty of wildlife viewing opportunities on the properties and plenty of accessible walking trails.
We offer camping on site by the lake or on the intercoastal waterway overlooking the Cape Romaine National Wildlife Refuge. We also have cabins with bunk bed style sleeping that we rent out by the bed or privately. there are plenty of onsite activities such as kayaking, paddleboarding, basketball, ping pong, archery, fishing, biking, hiking, horseshoes, to name a few. We also offer off site kayak tours to get guests out into the national forest to enjoy the wonderful sites. If you are looking for other things to do you can visit some of our friends at Sewee Visitors Center, The Center for Birds of Prey, Charleston Zipline, Sewee Outpost, Awendaw Green. There are also a few spectacular eating places close by: T. W. Graham and Co., McCellanville Diner, Sewee Resturant, The Rusty Rudder, to name a few.
Our facility is perfect for Family Reunions, Weddings, Birthday Parties, Church Gatherings, Business meetings, Scout Groups and more. We have acres of parking and multiple stall restrooms. A large cafeteria with seating for 100 can also be used for meetings. Our Chapel is also a perfect place to hold meetings and presentations and can hold up to 100 people. We welcome all denominations to share the chapel. Plan your wedding and reception all in one place! Our kitchen is large with commercial style appliances.
