Wambaw Creek - Still Boat Landing


​Address: Forest Service Road 211-B, Francis Marion National Forest, McClellanville, SC, 29458 

From Charleston: 
Take either Meeting or East Bay Street north until you come to the large overpass where you’ll get on to the BRIDGE to Mt. Pleasant….. Once over the bridge, Continue straight in your left two lanes onto Hwy. 17 North. Go about 45-50 minutes until you come into the town of McClellanville. At the Yellow blinking light with the BP Station on your right at Hwy. 45, take a LEFT and go 4 miles. Look for a Francis Marion Wildlife Management area sign on your right. Go to the next dirt road after this sign and turn RIGHT onto Millbranch Rd (Forest Service Road 211). Go 3.3 miles down Millbranch Rd and turn LEFT at the Still Boat Landing Sign onto Millbranch Rd B (Forest Service Road 211-B). Approx. 50 minutes total

From Moncks Corner 
Take Hwy 52 to Hwy. 402. and turn onto Hwy 402 at the light. You'll soon come to a yield sign. Continue right at the yield and go about 14+ miles to a stop sign at Hwy. 41. Continue straight across 41 onto Steed creek Road (State Rd. 133) and go about 7.5 miles. Turn LEFT onto Halfway creek road and go about 11.5 miles to the stop sign. (this will be French Santee Road/Hwy. 45). Turn RIGHT and go 5 miles, (You'll have gone over 2 small bridges at this point) Turn LEFT onto a dirt Forest Service Road 211 and go 3.3 miles. (You'll pass 211-D and 211-C along the way). Turn LEFT onto 211-B across from a sign that points to the left that says Still Landing. Follow this sign to the end of the road where the creek is. 

From North Charleston: 
Take I-26 to I-526 towards Mt. Pleasant….. continue about 14 miles and exit onto Hwy. 17 North Georgetown Exit. Turn Left heading towards Georgetown and Continue straight in your left two lanes onto Hwy. 17 North. Go about 45-50 minutes until you come into the town of McClellanville. At the Yellow blinking light with the BP Station on your right at Hwy. 45, take a LEFT and go 4 miles. Look for a Francis Marion Wildlife Management area sign on your right. Go to the next dirt road after this sign and turn RIGHT onto Millbranch Rd (Forest Service Road 211). Go 3.3 miles down Millbranch Rd and turn LEFT at the Still Boat Landing Sign onto Millbranch Rd B (Forest Service Road 211-B). Approx. 50 minutes 

From Myrtle Beach: 
Take Hwy. 17 South into the Town of McClellanville. . At the Yellow blinking light with the SHELL station on your right at Hwy. 45, take a RIGHT and go 4 miles. Look for a Francis Marion Wildlife Management area sign on your right. Go to the next dirt road after this sign and turn RIGHT onto Millbranch Rd (Forest Service Road 211). Go 3.3 miles down Millbranch Rd and turn LEFT at the Still Boat Landing Sign onto Millbranch Rd B (Forest Service Road 211-B).  Approx. 45 – 55 minutes 

From the Buck Hall Recreation Area: 
Take a RIGHT onto Hwy. 17 North Towards McClellanville. At the Yellow blinking light with the SHELL station on your left at Hwy. 45, take a LEFT and go 4 milesLook for a Francis Marion Wildlife Management area sign on your right. Go to the next dirt road after this sign and turn RIGHT onto Millbranch Rd (Forest Service Road 211). Go 3.3 miles down Millbranch Rd and turn LEFT at the Still Boat Landing Sign onto Millbranch Rd B (Forest Service Road 211-B).  Approx. 20 minutes.

Citgo Station - Common Meeting for am tours

From the Charleston Area (South of the Francis Marion National Forest) head North on Highway 17.  The Citgo station will be the first gas station you see for miles.  It is .5 mile past McClellanville Diner on the right side of the road.


From the Georgetown area (North of Francis Marion National Forest) head South on Highway 17.  The Citgo station will be a quarter mile past the blinking stoplight at Highway 45 crossover on the left side on the road directly across from Buckshot's Restaurant.
